Here  we are on "Black Friday",the day after Thanksgiving, investigating what "nana and pop pop" might  do
for the Holidays.Why ?  Some may say that the millenials have it all and that the "Boomers" are irrelevant.
Others may say that the "Boomers" are living longer and are still as relevant as ever.Naturally, this old
hoboclown detective decided to shine up his red nose and nose around the issues. Among some of the issues
turning up was that the 'every-ready Boomers' who seem to just keep going,going and going, need support to maintain their persistence to keep on doing 'It' their way !

Boost Worker's Wages at Mc Donald's Franchises ?

Travelling In-Cognito this evening, I ate a Big Mac Meal at a Mc Donald's Restaurant
in Chestnut Hill, PA . I deliberately set out to see if the Big Mac tasted like a "slime
pattie" as some have rumored. I ordered the meal with a medium fries and a medium
coke and was so satisfied and convinced that the meal had 'no slime' and tasted like
'regular hamburger' - that I decided to recommend  a near $15 /hour increase for the
legions of fast food Mc Donald's workers.

No, I did not leave my red hobo shoes as I left the restaurant .I felt like I left a huge footprint
on the topic instead ! These guys/gals work hard and  do not deserve a 'slimey paycheck'.
They deserve a little more heft in their bank accounts ! And of course-some fries with that !

Is "Fake News" a Second Cousin to Fiction & Mythology ?

I don't believe I asked this question of myself ( since I am a contemporary fictional character).
Therefore, I submit the question to my viewers to render their 'just verdict' on the matter ! I suggest that
there be no pleadings before a kangaroo court and no political dictums ! Rather, the view and verdict of the
contemporary 'commoners' should be reached and announced in a 'Hear ye ! Hear ye' fashion in the

Wall Diplomacy ?

Again, I trod the earth to discover the archaeological evidence of  'man-made sanity,diplomacy
and other mysteries of Life'.Today's focus is upon the  'walls of confusion, division and paradox'. My
magnifying glass has been on its' own spectacular mission into the eons of space or so it seems.
Well, I (as fictional hoboclown detective) peered into the past  at   7th century  B.C. and poked around the
"Great Wall of China" to examine the contrast between it, the 2018 plans for the "Mexican Wall ",
the "Berlin Wall"  and the 'Wall of Wills or Peace between  North and South Korea'. The "Great Wall
of China" has its' own glorious history and intent. Ironically, the leaders of  contemporary China support
the eradication of the 'walls' between North and South Korea. Also, ironically the USA leaders support the
construction of  a 'Great Wall' between the USA and Mexico. The  " Berlin Wall' has been torn down.

As a fictional investigator,  I wonder if the history  and impact of the  'Great Walls'  have any relevance on the contemporary 'walls of division' between the rich,the poor,the disenfranchised , race and ethnicity,gender & identity, justice and injustice and the divisions between police powers and citizen's rights.I think mortal man needs some answers on the 'wall phenomenon'.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Internet

Clowns can be funny and quirky! Sometimes the world is funny and quirky too!
A funny thing happened to me yesterday.As fictional hoboclown,Flash Mc Cool,
I often wander about seeking clues to the real meanings of Life.Sometimes, I
trod,slip on banana peels and get in over my head. Yesterday,was one of those days!

Midway into my quest to experiment with the Facebook Internet to find new friends, I was
suddenly overwhelmed and besieged by an international band of clowns (around the
globe). I  was "messaged" by clowns from : Germany, Brazil, Mexico,Cebu,Italy,
India and many other regions that I never heard of. While struggling to answer the
"messages",I received a big boost from the Facebook  "Translation" option .I had never really used
"Messenger" before and must have erred in activating this option.I did not want to disappoint
those who wanted to communicate with me and used the slow "translation" option to do so.
Of course, my messages were brief  because so many people wanted to befriend me in such a short order of time. I had a "message" waiting list of 53 people trying to converse. Some clowns probably hung up after waiting too long.I apologize to them. Those who got through wanted some answers that I had to research.

One Doctor (clown) invited me to come visit his hospital in Rio de Janeiro where he performs Dr. Clown
activities.He told me I would enjoy the experience and referred me to his group, Trupemiolomole.org, after he gave me his brief description of the essence of a clown,

Flash Mc Cool's Clown Identity

Fans often ask, " What kind of clown is Flash Mc Cool ?"  Well, from this horse's mouth,
Flash Mc Cool is a North American  fictional hoboclown detective created to serve solely
as an internet-blogging and  film character clown.In his film presentation,Flash is portrayed
as  1/2 cartoon and 1/2 human .His on-camera facial-mask,  ambulation and expressions are cartoonish.

A Little Known History of Black American Ghettos

In my on-going trek for meaning and understanding of difficult topical matters,I
happened on a great read for understanding the urban history and  inner-city
problems of the Black community. More and more,I learn how multiple generations
of  americans are unaware of the impact of  historical US governmental policies upon
the contemporary problems in american society today. A lot of youth today are unfamiliar
with the relevant histories as they and their parents were not taught about them. Learning
about relevant histories of US governmental policies strengthens  today's students, young-adult
and adult  leaders as they are bombarded daily with internet accounts of  social justice matters.


 The 'great read' was a New York Time Article re-published in The Sunday Tribune April 1,2018 about the
death of Arnold R. Hirsch (69) . Writer,Sewell Chan, described Hirsch  as, "a historian whose
landmark study  of Chicago documented the role of  government policy in creating highly segregated
African-American ghettos during the mid-20th century..."

Black American Iconic Houses ?

Yesterday (April 1,2018) ,I was the proverbial  'fool' as expected for a fictional hoboclown detective. Today,
I transform to the fuzzy-eyed fact-finder,looking for clues for 'whatever'. Well, today's 'whatever' focus is on
two Black American Iconic  Houses. The houses  are in two different cities and states.Both are part of
the legacies of two iconic Black American Civil Rights figures.One house is remembered with a historical
designation and the other 'not so' . There are many familiar historical (documented) inconsistencies in the United States of America. Peering through my magnifying glass does not always reveal the subtle reasons for
inconsistencies in the 'whatever'.You would think that  the legacy of two Black Civil Rights icons would be
on 'equal footing'  in terms of their worth and  legacy value.However,one house was termed as, "...simply not a human interest story" and " an unimportant blip  in the timeline of her life here in Detroit". The niece of the  female iconic Black American Civil Rights figure would," ...like for this house to have a home.This is a story that's a larger part of American history.It cannot be overlooked".

Slave's Grandson,Paid As a Janitor,Worked As a Post-Doctoral Researcher

Sometimes in quiet reflective moments, we are reminded of  historical  miracles that offset
contemporary blahs.Is this phenomenon by design ? Or is it a part of  an altered DNA by-product of
experiences that move instantaneous insight to near instinctual levels ? These questions could
probably be studied best by  scholars who do not have the limitations of  a fictional hoboclown mind.
Perhaps such questions could have  been  studied by the likes of  the grandson of a slave (Vivien
Thomas) who in the 1940's was "paid as a Janitor" but "worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher".

Black History of a Film of 3 Cool Black Clowns

Armed with a shooting script,loads of props,grease paint,wigs and second hand clothes,a foursome
all black production crew drove a rented mini-van to their secret Philadelphia,PA.film location  on a Saturday and Sunday in late September, 2004 to produce a short film.
In January,2005 the film maker had a second  short film  registered with the Cannes Short Film Corner via FedEx as the black film maker  could not afford the trip to Cannes, France.
In 2006,the film received Honorable Mention Film 2006 recognition in Chicago via a withoutabox.com submission. 
From September 7th thru September,30,2007, the film was screened at the Los Angeles County fair,as
part of the Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival showcase.The film maker could not afford the trip to Los Angeles and again shipped the screening DVD via withoutabox.com.
At the 2010 International Surrealist Film Festival in Los Angeles, the film's producer was a recipient of
The BRETON Award.The producer was not in attendance,sparing the airfare and instead had shipped the film via withoutbox.com.

Making a film is not always peaches and cream and more often than not the film becomes a lemon that
gets a  dubiously distinctive roasting  on a film review page.Making a film (short or feature) is not for the

A big budget, A-list casted, Hollywood-backed film has a better chance of marketable success than  low budget short or feature films.Yet, success can also be measured in the appreciation value of just bringing

actors is an immense reward in and of itself. To see someone laugh and have fun with your creative venture

A Review of The Black Panther

What happens when a fictional hoboclown detective reviews a Hollywood movie debut of a
fictional Marvel comic Superhero ?  Well, in this instance the creator of Flash Mc  Cool, fictional
hoboclown detective gives deference to reality and  writes the review with the following quote,
 

    

'C., A.,  and I went to see The Black Panther today....Great movie: Terrific screenplay (even if
a fictional comic story); spectacular scenes;dynamite special effects; beautiful costumes; makeup
wizardry; superb acting by all actors & actresses from the leads to extras !The ex-wife of The Black
Panther looked like mom ( amazing ! ). The music wasn't as rattling as I thought because it came during the high action scenes and was actually a plus to accentuate  what was happening on the screen. Some very funny

I remember when they brought Superman to the big screen. I got misty-eyed then because everything

The Black Panther Cosplay Phenomenon 2018

 A few blogs back (see content below) I did a piece on 'Primping vs. Pimping'. Today, now that the
"Black Panther" movie has made its' debut in theaters around the globe, it is   with precedent and
appropo for an iconic fan base of superheroes to  wear   faux costumes of their 'superheroes' and
now with "The Black Panther" to go a step further and  fashionably dress in  the imaginative dress of a
fictional, futuristic, high- tech, afrocentric civilization. Additionally, other fans are daring to attend the
big screen showings in their individual or family-linked  fashionable adornments.  I, myself (a fashionably-
dressed fictional character in my own right) may attend the "Black Panther" movie showing in my own
"incognito afrocentric cosplay" outfit . It is terrific fun and to be expected to be immersed in the full

Eerie Sunday 2010-Flash Forward to 2018

A few days ago,I had a conversation about hiking and exercising in (Germantown)Philadelphia,PA,USA with a neighbor.We talked about short cuts in reaching the picturesque areas in the park. I had one trail to enter the Wissahickon Valley Park area and he had several.The talk led to his mention of a group of Hermits who settled into the caves in the area in the late 1600s. I thought of the area and the cave in which I filmed the short film,Flash Mc Cool:Imagination.I had never researched the history of the area before I filmed the short film there but when near the film location I saw a small plaque about a hermit cave near the film location area.The hermit area with the sign was gated and locked. One eighth of a mile away was our film location, with a cave set on a hill.This was the site of the opening and closing scenes for my short film.
Today, I recalled the conversation with my neighbor and looked up some information about the hermits in the Wissahickon Valley Park area.The site was

The irony of what I learned is eerie.Not only was I filming in a spiritual
area for the historical hermitage but also in a spiritual area for the Lenape
(i.e. "the people" ) Delaware Indians.The famous historical area was also
cited by Edgar Allen Poe, John Greenleaf Whittier and even Mark Twain.The entire
matter becomes stranger when, after the 2004 debut of my short film from September
2004 to December 2004 at The Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia,PA,
the Bryn Mawr Film Institute in January 2006 and the Ohio Sandy Valley Short film festival in March,2007, I learned that M. Night Shyamalan also recently shot some scenes for The Last Airbender in the same Wissahickon Valley Park.
Curiously, I had also designed this blogsite with meditative and mystical references.
Was this a mere coincidence? Or were the forces of Nature truly operative in the

The above was  blogged in 2010 . Now, in 2018 I learned of an area of houses that were built atop an
ash-filled waterfall. Yup, just at the top of Washington Lane near Wayne Ave bridge, there was a waterfall
and stream where Native Americans  watered their horses back in the day.I understand that the
PA Historical  Museum has  old photographs of the area with the Indians on horseback.

The FBI History, A Female Agent & A Russian Born Agent

After searching the cyber woods this evening under the watchful eyes of
black-masked raccoons, I dispatched my dog to do  Nose Work
and to fetch  documents about the FBI ,relating to the inception and  control over
its' operations.For a tiny morsel of a treat,the K-9 brought me the unclassified
documents that were retrieved.

With my back to the wall  and my vigilant eye on the entrance to my cave,I examined
the documents  by the light of  my camp fire. I quickly learned that the FBI had a female
agent, who was let go during the agency's infancy. It also had a senior citizen FBI agent
who was born in Russia and spoke several languages.He died early .

Numerous national  political and geopolitical forces were at play( including wartime stressors)
that shaped the mission,power and control of the bureau.There was also some Secret Service
involvement early on that (as you can guess) was "secret".Are you up for early intrigue ?

US Slavery & Merchandising of Slavery Products & Collectibles

There are many ways to study a topic and just as many ways to profit from information.
Literally, there were lots of profiteering in the economics of the transatlantic african slave trade.
Everything on and about the enslaved individual(s) including enslaved families was used for
economic gain .There did exist many printed versions of "social media" of the day that extended the
'slavery memorabilia,personal artifacts & collectibles' into the slave owner's and the slavery
industry  marketplace. Money was  also made from slavery abolitionists'  papers & sentiment. Bank notes from several  US states' banks appeared to be prized possessions with investment potential. While today's

USA Immigration Studies & The Legal Status Question

As an old fictional hoboclown detective, I've learned that one key to getting informed is to ask questions and obtain information.I've gotten a lotta sources of information by picking up dirty little pennies and discarded old papers.Sometimes, you just idle along ignorantly and at other times you latch onto gems of facts.Facts are only tools( in and of themselves)of further discovery and greater understanding. Discovery and understanding gives an ignorant old clown like me, more latitude in drawing conclusions and at least minimal insight. I just used some big words to generate some small ideas. 1892 Early Immigrant 'Dreamers' To The USA

A brief review of the 2 Jan., 1892 New York City Passenger's List presented to the Collector of Customs, identified 33 individuals aging in range from 2 thru 50. They were identified as "citizens" of Ireland, England and Russia. Twenty-seven could read and write.Six could not read and write. They were identifed as: child,wife, laborer,artisan,tailor,smith,farmer,infant,machinist. MLK Jr, & John's Vision at Patmos ?

It is ironic that today's post coincides with the day that the USA honors the teachings of Martin Luther King,Jr. The following link culminates in Dr. King's mention of "John's vision during his stay on the island of Patmos.John had a vision of a new Jerusalem", wherein it was stated,"Behold I make all things new;former things are passed away". This paper was reportedly delivered by Martin Luther King at the National Cathedral, Washington, D.C., on 31 March 1968. Congressional Record, 9 April 1968. Martin's paper called for the "forces of Goodwill" to assemble to forge the change necessary for world peace.His clarion call,like so many others during his lifetime, was prophetic. While 1968 was a turbulent time in the United States and the world, today's world of 2017 geopolitics and today's strife was mysteriously predicted in striking detail.The sermon of 9 April,1968 was not some "fake news" conjured up 50 years ago.The details are too strikingly similar to today's world state of affairs and events. Note the following key words and issues in the sermon: "Freedom,human dignity,great period of social change, triple revolution ( technological,nuclear weapons of warfare,human rights) freedom explosion ( all over the world);challenged to eradicate the last vestiges of racial injustice in our nation;racial justice (as the black man's burden and white man's shame);get rid of the disease of racism;we stand in the most segregated hour of America;Congress...was willing to undergird it's white peasant's from Europe with an economic floor;...must be something positive and massive to get rid of the tragedies of racial injustice;...ill-housed...ill-nourished ...Latin America...Africa...Asia; ...poor people's campaign...direct action......we end up morally and politically isolated in the world......a new day of justice and brotherhood and peace... Tortured Tales of Man's Inhumanity to Man

As usual, a question arose in the mind of this inquisitive hoboclown detective.Who or what type of person would fashion a "shackle or chain" to keep and control a captured slave? Did the inventors of such 'inhumane hardware' take pride in the genius of their products ? How much were they paid to fashion such instruments of control and servitude? One question just led to another and another and another. It appeared that different researchers reported similar and differing accounts of the same 'tortured inhumanity of man to man' (woman, child,family,occupation etcetera). No, slavery ( and the hardware thereof) did not originate in the United States against blacks. Yes, slavery ( the institution, culture, practice, and regulation of such in the United States) was borrowed or 'imported from the past allegedly great civilizations of all time'. Yes, the early Romans subscribed to slavery and were said to have valued "Greek" slaves. There were also accounts of early "professional people" of those times taken into slavery by their captives. Could today's United States enforcement and prosecution of violations of "human trafficking" laws be applied retroactively to prosecution of the barely remote (in contrast to ancient times) 17th,18th and 19th and 20th century US societal vestiges of 'pro-slavery actions and sentiment' in the individual states of the United States ?

A Vision for 2018 ?

A few minutes ago, I was looking for my light and eyeglasses to see what was coming down the pike.Sometimes, it's easier to see what's coming around the corner than what's in front of your face. The question that arose is whether we really need sight to have vision.Some people can't see the forest for the trees and others routinely chase blind ambition.Inevitably, they often get blind-sided. What do I need to see what's going to happen in 2018 ? Do I need what everyone else needs to see the light or see my way ? Sometimes, a magnifying glass or microscope just won't do.I, like some others, may limit myself to tunnel vision or by just taking a narrow view of reality ! You can bet your bottom dollar that what you see in store for 2018 may not actually materialize. A blind person may be able to see more without sight because he or she has true vision! In this instance,that blind person would become my guide ! Try to see the other perspective sometimes!
