A Primer for Reparative Justice ?

Sometimes it is hard to get  authentic comments from "the horse's mouth". The following links
outlines some biographical and autobiographical quotes of a former 19th century freed USA
slave who became the first black priest in the United States. I found the book to be a good instructive  read on why and how a concerted USA  "reparative justice" initiative could benefit the United States and in particular " descendants of USA slaves".

A Reparative Justice Profile of Bondage & Servitude ?

Today, a bank teller told me," I see you have been a customer of this bank for 46 years."
Yesterday, I realized that I have been a  Pennsylvania licensed clinician for 40 years.
Obviously, more thoughts and facts on the matter were conjured up:

I have been of service to the US government ( military & civilian) for 12 years.
I have been married & divorced after 15 years but provided caretaker service and
nurturance to the divorced spouse and children of that union for 40 years.
I have in my possession a legal copy of a deposition that outlined the government-
sanctioned redlining practices of  one of my previous bank check deposit accounts
involving a home equity matter.
I have endured having no running water for the past 6 years and no home electricity
for the past 6 months due to punitive public utility policies, practices and health issues
as a senior citizen.
I have been a resident of this planet and the USA for 71 years.
I am an American Descendant of Slavery (ADOS).
To enlighten you about ADOS, I have provided the following link,

There are many autobiographies similar to  mine that  are being disclosed

Mirror This ?

You look at me but you don't see
Visions, vows, oaths and me

Battles fought,
lost and won
Lessons  received, imagined and taught

You look at me but you don't see
Visions, vows, oaths and me

A civilian prisoner of war
name, rank and nerves ajar

You look at me but you don't see
Visions, vows, oaths and me

They salute you who deliver
when lesser men shake and shiver

You look at me but you don't see
Visions, vows, oaths and me

Turn your gaze inward and look at yourself
as I return you to your hallowed shelf

You look at me but you don't see
Visions, vows, oaths and me

Enjoy our Veteran's Day ?
